Thiamethoxam

Thiamethoxam

Thiamethoxam is a common insecticide found in many pest control treatments. Thiamethoxam is synthetic and is a second-generation neonicotinoid, which resembles nicotine. It has the same effect on insects’ nerves as nicotine does to our own.

Aside from acting as a general insecticide, thiamethoxam is also applied as a foliar spray, in the soil, and on seeds. Thiamethoxam is systemic and can move throughout the plant at an alarming rate, starting out fast with the leaves and ending with the roots.

Thiamethoxam controls sucking and chewing insects including aphids, whitefly, thrips, rice hoppers, rice bugs, mealybugs, white grubs, potato beetles, flea beetles, wireworms, ground beetles, and leaf miners.
